For those of you who have been looking for a fuller, “pure” ICS experience, check out the Ultimatum ICS ROM for AT&T Galaxy S2 SGH-i777. This ROM is pretty darn stable, comes with lots of goodies like LC2 modem, AOSP apps, Entropy kernel, and a whole lot more. You also have choice of 3 launchers including the TouchWiz, Apex, and CM9 Trebuchet launcher you can choose during installation.
Galaxy S2 Root
For those of you who want to unroot or unbrick your T-Mobile Galaxy S2 SGH-T989 back to Android 2.3.6 for whatever reason (maybe bricked or want to take it back for warranty), here’s how to do it.
UPDATE: There’s an unroot method to ICS, please see How to Unroot/Unbrick to ICS on T-Mobile Galaxy S2 SGH-T989! *Note – You will need a Windows-based computer, does not work with Heimdall on Mac or Linux.
Want overclocking (up to 1.6Ghz) with ICS on your Galaxy S2 i9100? You can now get overclocking with the Batista ICS ROM. I couldn’t really get stable overclocking at 1.6Ghz (nor 1.5Ghz) but I did get pretty good stable OC at 1.4Ghz.
Performance? Seems pretty good on this ROM, if you want overclocking now with ICS, give this ROM a try and let me know how it goes for you!
Want to get the “leaked” official ICS on your AT&T Galaxy S2 SGH-i777?
Although ICS is already out for the AT&T Galaxy S2 (there’s also Phone Bricker ICS ROM), this one is more or less “official” than ported ROMs from the i9100.
ICS is FINALLY HERE folks for T-Mobile Galaxy S2 users everywhere! This isn’t the “official” for T-Mobile but it’s a port from the official OTA ICS update on Skyrocket Galaxy S2, which is pretty much the same phone.
Everything works out of the box except auto-rotation bug (you can just turn it off). It’s a fully-functional ICS ROM so you should go flash this and start enjoying ICS!
For those of you who want to root your Galaxy S2 GT-i9100 on ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0+), here’s how to do it by flashing a new kernel.
Step 1. First, put your Galaxy S2 into download mode by holding down Volume Down, Center, and Power button together for about 10 seconds.
For this week, check out Malice ROM for T-Mobile Galaxy S2 SGH-T989. This ROM comes with pretty awfully awesome boot animation of “malice”, custom UI tweaks, Darkside kernel with 1.728Ghz OC, and should give you better battery life/performance over stock ROM.
Try it out and let me know what you think!
Been waiting for “flawless” ICS experience on your AT&T Galaxy S2 SGH-i777?
Well, check out this Phone Bricker ICS ROM (no, it doesn’t brick your phone), which is based off the official XXLPQ ICS for the i9100 series ported to the SGH-i777. So far, this ROM is pretty nice and you can get a “pure” ICS experience with everything working out of the box. There’s also lots of great ICS ROMs now and I will have more reviews coming this week but in the meanwhile, give this ICS ROM a try, you will like it I think. And let me know how it works for you!
For those of you who have been Resurrection Remix ICS ROM, you might want to check out the new “Pro edition” of Resurrection Remix ICS ROM. This ROM comes with XXLPQ modem and XXLPJ kernel, bringing you the best of both worlds. I find that the official XXLPQ has a bit of bugs but the Resurrection Remix ICS takes the best features of the official OTA update with customizations you’ve always enjoyed on the Resurrection ROM.
Here’s an updated overview of the UnNamed ROM for AT&T Galaxy S2 SGH-i77, which is probably the best “stable” ROM for your AT&T Galaxy S2 SGH-i777 right now. There’s a ton of features that come with this ROM including support for 1.6Ghz overclocking, BLN, unlocked USB/wifi tethering, and much more (you can check out full features list in the Credits link at the bottom).
