For this week’s Galaxy S2 GT-i9100 ROM of the week, check out latest version of Resurrection Remix ROM with Android 4.4.2 KitKat by XDA developer WestCrip.
Galaxy S2 Root
For this week’s T-Mobile Galaxy S2 SGH-T989 ROM of the week, check out latest version of HellKat ROM.
Based on CM11 (CyanogenMod), HellKat brings you a beautifully themed-out “Holo Red” theme (enable theme by enabling “Dark HellKat” in Settings) along with a good amount of customization, that will give you a pure CyanogenMod experience along with many extras.
For this week’s Galaxy S2 GT-i9100 and SGH-T989 ROM of the week, check out BeanStalk ROM!
Based on latest Android 4.4.2 sources, BeanStalk ROM brings you the bleeding-edge of Android 4.4.2 along with a high level of UI/system customization we are used to on Android 4.3 custom ROMs.
For this week’s ROM of the week for Galaxy S2 GT-i9100, SGH-i777, and SGH-T989, check out CM11 ROM.Galaxy S2 GT-i9100
For GT-i9100, check out CyanFox ROM, built on CM11 and everything working out of the box including calls, data, camera, camcorder, video, sensors, wifi, gps, etc… I do recommend trying this build out as daily driver since everything is working and you should find a pleasant Android 4.4 KitKat experience.
For those of you who have been waiting for Android 4.4 KitKat ROM, you can definitely try out the latest Omni ROM, which comes with Android 4.4 KitKat.
Omni ROM is a “preview” ROM and video replay is not working on this ROM so I do not recommend it as a daily driver. BUT, you can easily make a backup ROM before installing this ROM, try it out, then restore your ROM.
For those of you who want to install Android KitKat or Lollipop custom ROMs on your Galaxy S2 GT-i9100 or SGH-i777 (AT&T S2), you must be using latest CWM Recovery v126.96.36.199 or higher.
This method is also same for CM11, CM12, and CM12.1 custom ROMs.
Now since recovery is an integral part of kernel on the Galaxy S2 GT-i9100 and SGH-i777, you will have to flash a kernel with the latest CWM recovery v188.8.131.52 or higher. The easy work-around this is to install any of latest CM10.2 ROMs then simply reboot into recovery after installing CM10.2, which will give you the latest CWM recovery since CM10.2 comes with it.
For this week’s T-Mobile Galaxy S2 SGH-T989 ROM of the week, check out latest BeanStalk ROM with Android 4.4 KitKat.
This is the first custom ROM ever available for the T-Mobile S2 with Android’s latest KitKat OS, and you will be able to experience first-hand what the fuss is all about.
If you want to install the latest Android 4.4 KitKat custom ROMs on the T-Mobile Galaxy S2 SGH-T989, you MUST have the latest CWM Recovery 184.108.40.206 or later.
If you don’t, your install will simply fail.
So, how to update?
I made it really easy for you guys so all you have to do is install a zip file using your existing CWM Recovery. Once installed, simply reboot into recovery and you should see CWM Recovery 220.127.116.11.
For this week’s ROM of the week, check out latest version of MIUI ROM V5 for your Galaxy S2 GT-i9100 and SGH-i777.
Based on Android 4.1.2, the latest MIUI ROM is better than ever, giving you a ton of free themes, UI makeover, and lots of features not found on TouchWiz/AOSP custom ROMs.
For those of you looking for a good custom ROM with multi-window feature on the T-Mobile Galaxy S2 SGH-T989, your long wait is over as the latest version of BeanStalk ROM comes with multi-window feature ported from Omni ROM.
This new multi-window feature allows you to multi-task between two different apps in horizontal or vertical mode with an evenly-divided screen. You cannot resize the windows yet like Samsung TouchWiz but it’s still better than not having multi-window at all, which has been the case for the T-Mobile Galaxy S2 ever since Samsung released multi-window feature on the Galaxy Note, S3, and Note 2.
