CWM/TWRP Recovery

Warning: For GT-i9100 and SGH-i777, installing CWM or TWRP recovery also installs kernel.  This is only recommended to install when installing a new custom ROM.  Installing CWM/TWRP recovery will most likely break the ROM you are running currently as it overwrites the ROM’s kernel.

To use, install CWM or TWRP recovery, then reboot into recovery, and install the ROM as usual.  See How to Install Android 4.4 KitKat ROM on Galaxy S2!

CWM Recovery for T-Mobile Galaxy S2 Android 4.4 KitKat custom ROM!

If you want to install the latest Android 4.4 KitKat custom ROMs on the T-Mobile Galaxy S2 SGH-T989, you MUST have the latest CWM Recovery or later.

If you don’t, your install will simply fail.

So, how to update?

I made it really easy for you guys so all you have to do is install a zip file using your existing CWM Recovery.  Once installed, simply reboot into recovery and you should see CWM Recovery

And yes, this CWM recovery is backward-compatible so you should be good to go for installing all types of custom ROMs.

T-Mobile Galaxy S2 Official Jelly Bean Firmware with Root and CWM Flashable! [Fixed]

For those of you who want to try out the latest official Jelly Bean Firmware for your T-Mobile Galaxy S2 SGH-T989, you don’t have to unroot, which will force you to root your phone again.

Instead, there’s a CWM flashable zip file, this is completely stock firmware with root added and you won’t lose your custom recovery as it’s packaged just like a regular, custom ROM.

How to Install Android 4.4 KitKat ROM on Galaxy S2! [GT-i9100/SGH-i777]


For those of you who want to install Android 4.4 KitKat custom ROMs on your Galaxy S2 GT-i9100 or SGH-i777 (AT&T S2), you must be using latest CWM Recovery v6.0.4.3 or higher.

Now since recovery is an integral part of kernel on the Galaxy S2 GT-i9100 and SGH-i777, you will have to flash a kernel with the latest CWM recovery v6.0.4.3 or higher.  The easy work-around this is to install any of latest CM10.2 ROMs then simply reboot into recovery after installing CM10.2, which will give you the latest CWM recovery since CM10.2 comes with it.
