Juggernaut ROM v.5.0 for Rooted T-Mobile Galaxy S2 SGH-T989!

Here’s an updated review of the Juggernaut ROM version 5.0. This ROM and Tuesday ROM are my two current favorite ROMs for the T-Mobile Galaxy S2 SGH-T989.

This ROM features 13 quickpanel toggles, ROM Control (for tweaking UI), GoogleTalk with video, roboto fonts, Android 2.3.6, overclockable kernel up to 1.728Ghz, and other goodies.

If you haven’t tried this ROM yet, try it the new version, you will love this one too.

So far, this is one of the best ROM I have tried on the Galaxy S2. No issues so far. Thank you.

  • Huy

  • wrxm33

    does it have WiFi calling??

  • Brian

What’s up with battery life on these? I left my phone last night at 11pm at 100% battery and I come at 7am I has 34%….. That’s ridiculous. Is it only me or what?

    • JamieP.

Usually after you flash a rom you have to recalibrate the battery. Try watching this video to learn how hopefully it’ll show improvement. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgtnQzdB9z4

your think your battary is shout? just bought my phone and installed this rom 24 hours ago with a live wallpaper running and still have 85% life.

  • Brian

    It wasn’t so different with 4.1 btw….

    • daddyhall

I still use the 4.1, is there any reason I should move to the 5??

  • RICKY

Issue: Brightness from the top of the screen (TouchWiz) has no effect. Can’t adjust brightness.

  • LaBreia

I recently tried to flash this ROM but when I tried to complete the installation in recovery mode, a “installation aborted” error popped up. What should I do?

    • daddyhall

Mine did the same, did you find out what was wrong? Please let me know your out come.

  • damion

the battery life on this is not good. I haven’t tried tuesday morn yet but I’ll let you know

  • Mindeb

people who are having BATerry problems make sure tethering is off or whether someone is using it. perhaps GPS was working or something. I’ve been using Juggernaut 4.1 and battery was great, especially when idle (less than 2 % per hour using “batterry drain,” which is a must have for rooted phones). this version is even better, especially when idle, less than 1 percent per hour battery drain. one of the best roms, but the only problem is what tushar bulsara said ” Only issue. Sometimes data won’t work. Have to disable and enable data to get it working again.”

  • Nobbie

Installed last night (about 24 hours ago), and my battary is still sitting at 85% with a live wallpaper running.

  • JamieP.

I have this rom running with The latest darkside x kernel and I love it. Runs alot smoother than the kernel it came with

    • LoopDoGG

Thanks!! Ive been scouring the net looking for some info. Ive been thinking of doing this, and im going to give it a shot now!!

  • Donovan

Does this ROM come with USB OTG support?

  • kimi

Your video said I could change the color of my signal bars through ROM Control. I have tried multiple times and my signal bars still remain the same color, green. The battery percentage and clock have changed color, but not the signal bars. Is this a glitch, or did I do something wrong?

  • Tammy

Does this come with Swype? And how come it’s not on the ROM manager list?

  • noobie

Had this rom for about 3 weeks now, and internet when out. At first I throught it was my data plan, but was not even close to going over.

Pretty much at to flash the rom again and now the internet is back.

  • Gabriel Roman

I flash all the Roms in galaxys2root web site and I like this one the best love the diffrent lockscreens the Rom Control and love that it still had the original Calendar and other stock widgets

  • Frank.sa

    what about Arabic lang?

  • Huy

Although this is an awesome ROM, there’s an issue for me. It should improve battery life as many other ROMs should too, but instead my battery is drained to 50% in about 3-4 hours… Does anyone know why this happens? I’m on the Malice ROM now and my battery lasts like 20x longer than this (may be exaggerated a little but it lasts much longer).

  • Eduardo

i have a problem…..i keeo trying to install this rom but i get stuck on the ‘samsung galaxy s2 screen” how long does it usually last for it to reboot? its my first room that i install. please help.

    • admin

try clearing cache and dalvik cache in CWM.

  • brian

    It’s pretty quick usually…..
is your phone rooted ? just do a complete wipe first use darkside wipe

  • brian

But I was installed lCS a few days ago it works great I’m off juggernaut…… This is way better faster

  • vzqsmooth56

okay im not a noob or what not but im having some issues overclocking my phone.
i installed this rom and it runs flawesly. its amazing.
when i over clock it, i set the max to 1.6+ and minimum to 1.5+. problem is my minimum always lowers its self on its own. (on setcpu itll say minimum 800mHz) im a little confuse as to why this is happening. also when i over clock it to its highest setting (1.728) i still get really crappy scores on antutu (between 6900-7100) and quadrant (2800-3200). i was running the port from the Skyrocket and i would get around the same antutu scores but my quadrant scores was way higher around the 4000’s. Any ideas?

    • Max

Scores dont mean everything really also judge how well ur phone performs. But high scores are good to have.

    • nick

Its cause the phone is NOT as fast as the other models. Yea I was also tricked into buying this model vs other GS2 models cause of the so called faster CPU speed advertised. HA… Bullshit.
This phones is not that fast.
BTW stick with this rom or the slick mod rom. The ICS is FAIL. Even Tmobile didnt get it right and everyone has problems with the MMS not working.

Next phone I get will not be a Tmobile phone.

  • brian

now my phone is frozen after I flashed this Juggernaut rom through rom manger, help please!

    • Max

Try getting into CWM Recovery manually then clear cache if that doesn’t work try restoring to your previous ROM or install another ROM.

  • Danl

Hey, do you know what type of phone you have. Is it the SGH-T989? Make sure you phone is the right model if not you have to flash a rom that is for your model phone. If you have a reader on you computer, take out your SDCard and put it in your computer, copy the rom to it, put it back into your phone reboot back into clockworkmod, choose the rom that you copied to your SDCard for you model and flash your rom again. Don’t forget to follow the steps on how to flash your rom. You must remember to WIPE DATA/FACTORY CACHE & WIPE CACHE PARTITION,THEN GO TO ADVANCED IN CLOCK WORK MOD AND WIPE DALVIK CACHE THEN GO BACK AND REBOOT SYSTEM NOW.

If you have the right model make sure the copy of the rom is not corrupted by downloading a fresh new copy to your SDCard like I explained up top. You should be good.

  • Brian

Max, and Dani thank you, I read what you guys said after I fixed it on my own. appreciated it, works now.

  • brian

Got my phone running great with the juggernaut and tried to restart my phone after getting everything setup the way I wanted feeling great about my phone ( Samsung gs2 t mobile SGH-T989 ) and now the phone won’t start back up! is this what’s called BRICKING THE PHONE? I’m I screwed?? help please!

    • Max

      Does the screen turn on?

      • brian

No Max the won’t turn on, nothing I tried everything I know but still nothing. any ideas? I would appreciate it.

        • Max

Well a lot of times it happens to me, simply pulling battery out and in then pushing the power button usually turns the phone back on, I’ve never heard of anyone bricking the T989. Try that it’s probably just out of battery, charge on wall adapter for few hours.

          • brian

Well Max you heard it here first, the phone is BRICKED! it wasn’t the battery, or anything else just wouldn’t reboot……

            • Max

Yeah I think that’s a first, try taking it to T-Mobile for warranty. They should take it back.

              • brian

Yea Max I already made arrangements for replacement… too bad bc I had that S2 right where I wanted it…. It was so fast and I love the Juggernaut rom. Now I’m afraid to root this phone their sending. don’t know what the problem was. I was having some problems before rooting when I updated to the ICS it started to get real unresponsive. So that is why I rooted it…..now I don’t know what I’m gonna do…..I hope t mobile doesn’t find out I rooted the phone. since its bricked I don’t think they can but who knows. Thanks for all respondes…
