Wild Kernel for T-Mobile Galaxy S2 SGH-T989!

For this week, check out Wild Kernel for T-Mobile Galaxy S2 SGH-T989.

I know some of you were asking me about the best custom kernel for your Android 4.4.2 custom ROM, well this new Wild Kernel does a pretty good job at that.

Just released 2 days ago, Wild Kernel comes will a voltage table overhaul that have undervolting built-in to improve your battery life to the maximum without compromising peformance. There’s even “deep sleep” idle mode and more CPI frequency steps when your phone is idling.

Other cool features include overclocking up to up to 1.836Ghz and a ton of governors to choose from including OndemandX, Lulzactive, Intellidemand, InteractiveX, Wheatley, Lionheart, and more. (I do recommend using OndemanxX, Intellidemand, or InteractiveX for this kernel.)

If you are having any battery drain issues with your KitKat custom ROM, definitely give the Wild Kernel a flash this week(end) and do let me know what you think!

To install, reboot into recovery, make backup ROM (just in case something goes wrong, you can easily restore ROM, which also restores your original kernel), install kernel, and reboot.

For tweaking CPU frequencies, I do recommend using Trickster MOD app on Play Store.

This might be a dumb question, but: is this kernel compatible with the newest Dirty Unicorns ROM (which, BTW, is awesome, aside from the lag induced by slow processing speeds)?

Kernel worked great with Dirtyunicorns ROM but after I overclocked CPU speed to 1836 MHz, phone did a reboot and ever since that, its stuck in a boot loop. Practically, I regret playing around with overclocking CPU speed. Now have to redo everything again:(

i installed wildkernal on top of dirty unicorn, but when i reboot it goes to samsung logo and thats it, i’m using the Tmobile Galaxy S2 T989 Hercules

Kernel worked great with Dirtyunicorns but the 4 soft keys at the bottom remained on all of the time. Had to undo.

They can be turned off in the Settings>Device Specific menu. That’s what I did.

Will this kernel work on cyanogenmod 11 nighties update version 31st may 2014?

Love the kernel. Working great with cm 11 June 01 nightly. I’ve played with the undervolt and managed to drop 125 MV of the lowest freq to 600mv! By far the best deep sleep kernel I’ve used. Don’t touch any other freqs though as there already at there minimum. Question, where did he find this kernel? I’ve been looking for kernel sources forever and can’t find any. Unfortunately as good as this kernel is its already out dated as the latest cm nightlies run 4.4.3 which this kernel won’t run with. I would love to find another kernel to run on the latest android releases but have always struggled to find any! Please help.

I’m running AOKP 4.4.3 rom. Does the kernel work on android 4.4.3? I keep getting an error message when I try to flash it. It won’t load up. Any help or answers please?
