I have been extensively testing many Android 5.1.1 ROMs for the AT&T Galaxy S2 SGH-i777 lately. One of the biggest bugs with Android 5.1.1 ROMs for the SGH-i777 model is the absence of audio when talking on the phone. This is circumvented on Android 5.1.1 by simply toggling the speaker on and off quickly. This is sorta annoying for those of you who talk a lot on your phone but if you don’t mind that, you can enjoy all the goodness of Android 5.1.1.
I know many of you asked me on how to root AT&T Galaxy S2 Skyrocket SGH-i727 but I don’t have that model.
BUT, the steps to rooting is nearly identical to T-Mobile Galaxy S2 SGH-T989 but you use a different recovery.
To root AT&T Galaxy S2 Skyrocket SGH-i727, simply follow the latest T-Mobile Galaxy S2 root method BUT for Step 6, instead of using “recovery-cmw-hercules.tar”, use the file “SkyrocketCWM184.108.40.206.tar”!
For this week’s Galaxy S2 ROM of the week, check out the latest SlimBean ROM Build 3 for your rooted Galaxy S2 Android smartphone, available for AT&T SGH-i777, T-Mobile SGH-T989, and international GT-i9100.
SlimBean ROM is an AOSP ROM (What is AOSP?) built off Android 4.2.2 sources with its own custom modifications.
If you want to be running the latest Android 4.2.2, check out PACMan ROM for your AT&T Galaxy S2 or international GT-i9100 GS2.
PACMan ROM is one of my favorite ROMs I’ve been following for a quite a bit but now with Android 4.2.2 and featuring some of the best stuff you will find with custom ROMs.
