For this week’s ROM of the week for international GT-i9100 S2 and AT&T S2 SGH-i777, check out latest Android 4.3 version of Carbon ROM. (You can also check out T-Mobile Galaxy S2 version of Carbon ROM here.)
UPDATE: There’s Carbon ROM with Android 4.3.1 now, PLEASE CLICK HERE to see it instead of this!
I’ve been following Carbon ROM ever since its beginnings and boy what a long ways they have come as ROM development team. I remember their first builds were full of bugs and not many new features but their latest version based on Android 4.3 is entirely opposite, perhaps one of the best Android 4.3 stable ROMs out right now with their own innovative additions like ability to change animations for each type of different transition animations.
Carbon ROM ships with its own AOKP-like ROM Control called “Carbon Fibers”, which allow you to change every part of your animations plus full ROM Control to customize your UI/system. Other than the load of options you can customize, Carbon ROM is a great “performer” out of the box, giving you the extra speed boost you would expect out of Android 4.3 at its cutting edge plus battery life is great.
If you are looking for stable Android 4.3 ROM with great performance, speed, and customization, definitely try Carbon ROM out this week(end) and do let me know what you think!
Download Android 4.3 Gapps (for all, DO NOT USE Android 4.2 Gapps, they will FC!)
Download Flash Player APK (if you want flash player)
DownloadAndroid 4.3 PhotoSphere (if you want photosphere, but may force close so make a backup of your Gallery app using Titanium Backup app before installing! )
To install, reboot into recovery, make backup ROM, wipe data/factory reset, install ROM, install Gapps and reboot. (If for some reason you end up in a bootloop, reboot into recovery, go to Advanced Wipe for TWRP or Mounts & Storage for CWM, format/wipe /system, then re-install ROM.)
