If you don’t like TouchWiz launcher on the official OTA ROM, you can try the Darky ICS ROM which is the same thing but comes with Nova ICS launcher. This is also based on the same official Samsung OTA update, software version XXLPQ with root and ClockworkMod Recovery Touch.

Can you post to the people of RESURRECTION REMIX if they or he, can put the social hub of the galaxy s2 and make work the IM aplication it doesn`t work it stay on conecting all the time and i love this aplicatication as much as i love this ROM over the STOCK firmware, please if you please because XDA dont let me post because i´m still a noob in the forum
hi max .. ive rooted my device using the new method youve posted on February .. ive installed many root apps and now i wanna install this rom ..i have downloaded the zip file and copied it to the sd card .. then i have downloaded this app (rom manager) to install the rom but its not working .. whenever i press (backup current rom) it takes me to the recovery mode and it tells me it cannot be done i tried to do it manually but it tells me the same thing .. please help max ive had enough of this touchwiz shit

Darky is based on the original disc, it is not an advantage?
What would you recommend? I need the 13-15 toggels also.
I would like to have it in Danish.
If you like Danisch, go for Darky. Remix is not fully multilingual and you will end up with a mix of Danish and English..

Would you be able to provide a way to get the Swype keyboard on these roms enabled/available? this rom, and the other touchwiz 4.0.3 versions don’t have the swype keyboard available as an option. would you know of any alternatives to these guys?
The resurection rom had it but i prefer the touchwiz/ics combination on this rom, realy awesome.

try “slide it keyboard” from app store. Thats how I got around not having swype.
What about omega 5.0 ics, is it fine?
Please confirm tjhat you DO NOT NEED to perform ROOT if using the two new “Official” Stock ROMS? OR, do you need ot root first for both? It is confusing as they say “with root” ???
“Darky ICS ROM for Rooted Galaxy S2 GT-i9100! [XXLPQ][Official OTA]” I take it as you need to have a rooted phone…… hence “for Rooted Galaxy S2” lol 😛 In order to put any ROM on ur phone, you have to be rooted.
I assume you need your phone to be rooted. It seems my root privileges have been taken away after installing this ROM and I will need to root again.

first of all congrats for the great tutorials and whole effort that you are putting. currently am on RESURRECTION REMIX but i am experiencing some minor issues.
For example:
-The phone goes dead with no reason once every 2 days or so. (the screen is fully black and no button respond, if someone is calling or texting me i cannot see it happening on the screen)
-Occasionally widgets that are on the main home screen (3rd) are moving on the first one. anyhow…
I was wandering if I change my ROM to the “Darky ICS ROM for Rooted Galaxy S2 GT-i9100! [XXLPQ][Official OTA]” one am i gonna have the same kind of issues or any other issues that will make my phone not fully functional? and the most important of all, I would like to keep the clean UI of RESURRECTION REMIX (which is very similar to the original ICS built for nexus devices), especially the messaging app interface, the contacts/people app interface and the notifications. Is that feasible with the “Darky ICS ROM for Rooted Galaxy S2 GT-i9100! [XXLPQ][Official OTA]” and nova launcher?

Chrome browser doesnt work
My phone now won’t show up in Windows in MTP mode. It attempts to re-install the MTP drivers every time but to no avail. Any suggestions? Australian here btw.
Same problem here. Mine does not attempt to re install the driver but it just will not show up. You should try to restore your previous rom then try others IMHO
Me too. Great, fast, stable rom but… problem with MTP device as Kies (code 10, MTP device wont start). Therefore, Kies via WIFI (by internet browser) works perfectly. I think that maybe the problem is with no kies on phone ? There is no Kies mode in USB mode options in phone. I think of changing the rom, can I run the Odin without problems with usb connectivity ? Drivers semm fine, problem maybe only with initialization.
I’ve installed, is quite good you know for certain touchwiz elements that are still around, the only problem I found so far is messaging is not working! it wont even load!
there is no Swype !!!!!!!!!!!!!! and no Root as well. Completely useless ROM for me
On mine there is swype. And root you can do easly by “new” method.
If you rooted the device before: Just download SU from the market and there is your root..

When I first flashed my S2, I installed this ROM (official ota ics). I liked it, but I wanted to experiment. So I installed the ressurection remix (which you say is the best one). On my S2, it kept crashing and rebooting and had a lot of problems eventually (it worked fine at first). So now I installed this rom again. Now that I’ve got a taste on the ressurection remix, I can’t go back to touchwiz.
I know there are ways to modify the themes of the notification bar and the settings menu, but it’s very hard to find a proper ‘guide’ to this. So my question is: Can you do a post on modifying the notification bar and/or other menus?
