Quick question for fellow Galaxy S2 users…

I am using the T-Mobile model (T-989). I have a very specific problem with my camera on ANY ROM based on Android 4.2 or above, where the Panorama (and Photosphere) modes are extremely blurry (basically the camera is stuck at the wrong focal setting).

This issue is NOT present on any Android 4.1 (or below) ROMs.

I have done some testing and it seems to be an issue with the stock Google camera app that’s bundled with 4.2 or above ROMs (for example, I used a different port of the camera – the one from the HTC One – and the Panorama mode is not blurry on that camera. However, the video preview on that one is messed up, and the viewfinder is stuck zoomed WAAAAY in).

Does anyone know if there’s a Photosphere camera that’s confirmed to work (no focal issues in Panorama mode) on the Galaxy S2?

Found some fixes that might help all the above problems.
the first is the raidio fix.

    1) install Jedi Mind Trick V6. This gives you the radio you need.
    2) After installed go to cwm
    3)wipe data factory
    4)wipe cache partition
    5) install Revolt JB Rom
    6) Reboot
    7) go back to cwm then install gapps
I had all the problems you all mentioned earlier after I did this I had no Problems!!
    Good luck hope this helps

I have the Tmobile version of the Galaxy S2. I am running Android 4.2. I cant seem to install any Roms that are Android 4.3 even though they are posted in the T-Mobile Galaxy S2 forum. I can only install and run Roms that are 4.2. Am I missing anything or a step I need to do before I can install these newer Roms 4.3? The latest ones I tried installing were Revolt and Jedi. They install fine but do not boot when I restart. Please help.

I did these steps but still at the ReVilt logo. Please help.

Hey Paul, i have the exact same problem, ROM loads fine but after reboot it’s dead.
let me know if you find an answer, i’ll do likewise..thx Steve

  7. Mark says:

I know sometimes it can take 5 to 10 minutes to load. Not really sure what else to try. Sorry

Why does my gallery crash and then reboot my phone?

  9. Angel says:

Why does my phone reboot when I open the gallery app? Any one know how to fix this?

    • Edgar says:

It happens to me too!! It happens to me with every 4.3 rom I use. It happened with this one, paranoidandroid, carbon and cyanogenmod. It really is a shame. Even if I try downloading a different gallery app it still restarts when I open it. The only thing that works is using the picture gallery of es file manager

    • eric says:

I use to have this same issue when i flashed carbonrom 4.3. It was quickly fixed with using fix permissions with cwm manager but on another 4.3.1 rom it didn’t do the trick so I did a FULL WIPE and that fixed the issue. Here is the link to correctly perform a full wipe if your interested. I would highly recommend you have a backup since this wiping method will erase ALL your current ROM’s files. Hope this helps!

      same problem here buddy!
      thats a shame =/

      any fix?

  10. Harmanbir says:

Help please. When I boot the rom everything is fine but it says the keyboard has crashed. I don’t know what to do. I’m a noob

    • Harmanbir says:

Now my whole rom won’t start up. It’s stuck in a long loading screen, not a boot loop. also My ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.4.3 is not working correctly. When I load a zip it says installing from storage and all that but it never continues. also when I go to the go back option, the blue menu disappears

  11. Dean says:

One problem only…screen stays lit when charging. The “stay awake when charging” box is not checked in Developer options, and I still can not find a wat to turn screen off when plugged in. Does anyone else have this problem?

  12. Desmo says:

I’m not a master but I’ve been flashing roms since the 2.1 days so I’ve got a good grasp on this. I’ve been running Revolt since it first came out and unfortunately it has a couple of problems. Booting up takes a very long time…every so often I get stuck in a boot loop and have to take out the battery and start up again and my soft keys always stop working which requires a reboot and all that entails. After using it as my daily driver I’m giving up on this rom.
The developer of this rom is an active member of the XDA community and a good developer so this isn’t an attack on him or a trash talk of his work. It just doesn’t work for me as I’d like it too.

  13. osiris says:

I installed fine. The only problem so far is I can’t add programs to the lock screen. It looks like it is set in the revolt control, but the lock screen only has unlock capability.

    • osiris says:

Starting to see more problems. Sometimes when taking/receiving calls I have to use the speakerphone. If it isnt hung up then it is restarting. The battery life is poor. Drains in about an hour or two.

  14. jorge says:

Works ok but when going into my photo gallery, freezes and reboots….?

  15. Barry says:

My phone will turn off and I can’t get it to come back on again. I have to go into CWM and reflash the rom. Just to get into my phone. This has happened 4 times in the past two days. How can I fix this?

  16. Don says:

So did anyone answer the following question yet, because this is very important to me.

After installing the rom – all is fine, works great, and when I reboot all I get it a flash of the Samsung logo and thats it. black. nothing. I can’t boot into recovery, cwm, nothing. I’m screwed and I desperately need my phone for my job.

After this, im going to unroot my phone and go back to stock. I can’t afford crappy roms like this interrupting my life. This is making me absolutely livid.

    Someone please help.

4.3 for the s2 seems to be a problem, I went back to jedi mind trick and it seems to be pretty good, before I tried 4.3 I was on 4.2 aosp which worked fine until I had the bright idea to change it

it would be a lot easier just to stay with what works but you guys know its always greener around the corner
